We provide students with a broad spectrum of curriculum that encourages self-discovery, development, and the full expression and expansion of the student’s chosen field of creativity as it relates to Theatre. The program provides a strong foundation of what is needed to be successful and confident in this field. Curriculum covers history, acting, vocal development for the actor as well as the singer, movement for the actor, technical production; including set design and costume; musical theatre training which includes vocal training and dance, and acting for film. In addition, students will be given the opportunity to use their talents and skills in lab and performance situations. The curriculum will be rounded out with additional Master Classes and Guest Clinician Workshops provided throughout the program. The curriculum is taught by trained, skilled, and active professionals. The Theatre Department is committed to the artistic growth and discipline of our students. It is our intention that as a result of this in-depth training, students enter into higher education as able, confident, and successful participants in their field of study.
Our philosophy is to encourage and nurture creativity, creative thinking, personal/professional ethics, imagination, and honest and open communication about their craft in a safe and positive environment where students are free to experiment and take chances.
